DESCRIPTION:May in the main gallery: \nWatercolor is a medium that’s easy to get into but difficult to master. We put out a watercolor-only Call for Art and our talented community artists did not disappoint. With more than 40 paintings entered\, a wide range of watercolor techniques and effects are on display: multi-layered transparent glazes\, watercolor with bodied paint\, dry brush\, Chinese brush painting\, and more. Come be amazed at what can be created with simple materials and a sheet of paper. \nJoin us for First Thursday May 5th at 5-7pm. Free and open to the public\, refreshments available\, and music by Nelson Kempf.

SUMMARY:Kenai Peninsula Quilting Guild  2022 Challenge Blocks
DESCRIPTION:  \nEach year the Peninsula Quilting Guild does a Challenge Block\, where each quilter creates a 12″x12″ block based on a theme. This year’s theme is “Balance.” There are 17 blocks demonstrating a variety of techniques\, made by quilters from Homer\, Seward\, Kenai\, and Soldotna. This show is on display in the Kenai Art Center rear gallery.
