DESCRIPTION:    \nFrom the MM Junkies: \n“We are The Mixed Media Junkies\, a local group of artists who focus on art exploration. We are currently creating a variety of repurposed books. Our exhibition\, Creative Pages\, will feature works blending metals\, cloth\, papers\, wood\, leather\, and found elements to explore and redefine the book as art. [This] show will feature works blending metal\, cloth\, paper\, wood\, leather and found elements to explore and redefine the book as art itself.”  \nThis group is comprised of the artists: Rachel Grossl\, Lily Huebsch\, Roxanne Sedor\, Marali Sargent-Smith\, Jan Wallace and Jenne Long.  \nFirst Friday Opening Reception in the back gallery will be October 2nd. 5–7 pm. \nArtist talks\, live music\, refreshments\, free to the public. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The KPEN ArtHive is Back! What’s an arthive? It’s a global community-based art studio that provides free access to materials and welcoming spaces for self-directed creativity\, skill-sharing\, and community building.  This event will happen the second Saturday of each month from 9 am to 12 pm. Come and go as you please! \nThe KAC hosts the only ArtHive in Alaska and our purpose is to support local established and upcoming or new artists. It’s a great opportunity to create art\, get to know other artists\, and to get art guidance if you are looking for it. This event is free and open to the public.
