DESCRIPTION:First Friday Opening Reception September 4th. 5– 7 pm \nIn our main gallery we welcome the works of artist ABBEY ULEN in her solo show titled TWIG CROWNS AND PAPER BOATS. \nIn Abbey’s words: \nI truly believe it’s crucial to keep our sense of wonder and curiosity alive. Through this\ncollection\, I hope we’re reminded of where we began—the toys we cherished\, the\nexploration of the natural world\, the people who shaped us\, and the magical imaginings\nabout adulthood that defined our playtime.\nUsing techniques like thin\, flat paint passages contrasted with highly rendered areas\, and\nlayering of additional elements\, helps convey emotion in my work. I’m strongly inspired by\nthe styles of artists like Mary Cassatt and Andrew Wyeth\, as well as the imagery and\nstorytelling of European medieval paintings.” \nLive Music\, refreshments\, artist talk. Open to the public and all are welcome.
