This fundraiser supports the Kenai Art Center’s workshops\, programs\, and the ongoing preservation of our historic old town Kenai building\, so many thanks to everyone participating!

(No First Thursday this March\, come out Friday instead!) \nThe gallery will be filled with bird-themed artwork from our amazing creative community. \nKenai River Brewing Co. will be releasing a new bird-themed beer: Ya Yellow-bellied Sap-Sucker! \nThe Tune Weavers will be providing live music\, including some bird-themed songs\, of course! \nThe opening reception is free and open to the public as always\, but beer will be available for purchase. Proceeds from this fundraiser go towards the KAC’s ongoing building repair & renovation fund\, to continue bringing you big and wonderful changes to this historic Old Town Kenai building. What we’ve done these last couple years\, including the rear gallery/workshop room and the new gallery flooring\, is just the beginning! DESCRIPTION:OPENING RECEPTION \nJoin us for First Thursday May 5th at 5-7pm. Free and open to the public\, refreshments available\, and music by Nelson Kempf. \nWatercolor is a medium that’s easy to get into but difficult to master. We put out a watercolor-only Call for Art and our talented community artists did not disappoint. With more than 40 paintings entered\, a wide range of watercolor techniques and effects are on display: multi-layered transparent glazes\, watercolor with bodied paint\, dry brush\, Chinese brush painting\, and more. Come be amazed at what can be created with simple materials and a sheet of paper.

SUMMARY:Pale Jail Ale Release Party
DESCRIPTION:The Kenai Art Center and Kenai River Brewing have teamed up to promote one of the best kept secrets in Old Town Kenai\, the Historic Kenai Jail.\n\n\n\nKenai River Brewing will be in the Art Center Feb. 3rd from 5-7 pm serving up their brand new beer: Pale Jail Ale. There is no cover charge for the event\, people 21+ can purchase beer tokens. Pale Jail Ale T-shirt will also be available\, and all proceeds go to support the Kenai Art Center. Live music will be performed in the gallery by the Tune Weavers\, including jail-themed songs and other country favorites. \n  \nThe jail was added to the Kenai Police & Fire Station in 1957. In 1973\, the building was leased to local artists\, who slowly transformed it into the art gallery\, pottery studio\, and workshop space that still thrives today. Come by the Kenai Art Center\, see a show and the preserved historic jail\, and have a beer!
