DESCRIPTION:Call for FIBER ART! Fiber Arts Show coming to the Kenai Art Center February 2025! Submissions for this show are open to weavers\, quilters\, sewers\, knitters\, crocheters\, etc. \nFirst Friday Opening Reception February 7th 5–7 pm. This show will run from February 5th through Friday February 28th. \nOriginal designs and Original patterns made within the last two years only please. All pieces must be completely assembled with hanging hardware attached. Submissions for this show will be accepted beginning Saturday January 4th through Saturday February 1st 2025 by 5 pm. This call for art show is open to artists 18 years of age or older. First Friday Opening Reception February 7th 5–7 pm. Free Event. Live Music & Refreshments. SUMMARY:BLADES OF BRASS Live In Concert
DESCRIPTION:Saturday February 15th 2 pm at the Kenai Art Center! BLADES OF BRASS is a new chamber ensemble based on the Kenai Peninsula. Established in 2024\, it was formed by a group of musicians that are passionate about sharing the excitement and beauty of brass instruments! They will be performing classical works that demonstrate the power and lyricism of brass instruments\, fun and lively selections of famous jazz tunes\, and a lovely tango by Astor Piazzolaa. BLADES OF BRASS is also excited to perform music by contemporary composer Anthony Plog. \nTickets: $10 each (students free). Pick up your tickets at the Kenai Art Center (816 Cook Avenue in Oldtown Kenai). We’re open 12–5 pm Wednesday through Saturday. \nAll proceeds will benefit the Soldotna High School and Homer High School bands.  More BLADES OF BRASS info: https://homerart.org/event/blades-of-brass/ \nThe Kenai Art Center will be closed to the public at 1:30 pm on Saturday February 15th for this special concert and will be open for all concert ticket holders.
