Call For Art–HALLOWEEN Back Gallery Show October 2025 

The KAC  is looking for artworks (2D, 3D, digital art, kinetic art, pottery, etc) that exemplify the good-natured-spookiness, fun and creativity of the spirit of Halloween. (No extreme gore, violence or hate art will be accepted). What creates a sense of mystery, fear,  and excitement for you in regards to Halloween? Childhood nostalgia? Curiosity of the unknown? Conquering your fears? Consider what stirs your soul about Halloween and how you can reflect that in your art. All submitted works must meet the guidelines of the KAC mission statement and vision statement found here: https://kenaiartcenter.org/our-mission/.

Eligibility: Artists 18 years and older. Artists submitting work must be residents of the state of Alaska with preference being given to residents of the Kenai Peninsula. Each artwork submission must be accompanied by a completed art entry form with entry fee paid at time of submission. 

Submission Requirements: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. All submitted work must have the appropriate art entry submission form identification slips completely filled out and taped with blue tape on either the back, bottom or some portion of the piece. Submitted works need to be created within the LAST 5 YEARS and not shown at the KAC before. All 2D artwork must have traditional hanging hardware attached. In other words, the art needs to be “ready to hang” with either a robust hanging wire, or hardware designed specifically for hanging artwork. Submission Deadlines: The KAC will be accepting work for the HALLOWEEN show beginning Saturday August 30th through Saturday September 27th. 

Selection Process: All submitted pieces will be reviewed by the KAC board of directors and the KAC Executive Director. The KAC board and Executive Director will determine which artworks fit the theme, mood and artistic vision of the show. All decisions about artworks selected are final. Some artists will have the opportunity to be highlighted on the KAC website, KAC social media, featured in Kenai and Soldotna Chambers of Commerce promos, along with recognition on KDLL radio and the Peninsula Clarion newspaper. 

Opening Reception for HALLOWEEN: The First Friday Opening Reception is October 3rd 2025. Reception begins at 5:00 with artist talks (artists to be determined later) at 6 pm with reception closing at 7 pm. The HALLOWEEN exhibit will run through Friday October 31st. Artwork may be picked up after the show closes starting no earlier than Saturday November 1st.
